What is Sacred?

"Now is the season to know that everything you do is sacred," wrote Persian poet Hafiz in the 14th century. It's an apt enough sentiment for the month of December, when there are many holiday traditions meant to celebrate love and life. Lately, though, my cherished yearly rituals have lost their allure and cheer sseem forced. But what Hafiz is saying is we should accept everything that comes into our lives as being sacred, even the confusion and mistakes. I love a contrarian point of view.
